Bailey, a 4-year-old yellow lab, leaps after a rubber duck thrown by April Schortz during the Splash Dogs competition in Laishley Park on Sunday. Bailey’s jump was 17 feet, 1 inch. The dog-jumping competition was part of the Oh Boy! Oberto Redfish Cup tournament held in Punta Gorda over the weekend.

Saturday some of the cutest Pug dogs this side of Austin turned out for the annual Pug Luau. Pugs strutted their stuff in Hawaiian shirts, lays and grass skirts at Auditorium Shores. There was even a pug hula contest.

To the person or people who apparently want to take matters into their own hands by cleaning up the neighborhood of wandering dogs. At least two dogs have been shot during the last few months and another is missing in South Bend Township.

More dogs who hit the pavement and took off running during an Interstate crash on Friday have been found. The dogs are up for adoption at the Sauk County Humane Society.
