A new brand of pet accessories, ChienChic looks to take the market by storm with its unusual blend of vintage, rare and contemporary materials. Wholesale inquiries only.
Dallas, Texas (PRWEB) September 11, 2005 — ChienChic isn’t the first brand to enter the booming pet-accessories market. But it’s out to become the category definer, offering one-of-a-kind designs, vintage materials and its own wedding line.
The brand’s designer, Lawri Murray, is working to answer for once and for all what she believes is the core desire of every doting pet parent: to set their furry baby apart from the crowd.
“That was the original reason for pet fashion accessories,” says Ms. Murray. “But the market became flooded with rhinestone-studded, Austrian-crystalled, faux-fur collars. It’s the same designs over and over, so anyone looking for something truly unique for their pet is going to be disappointed.”
Among ChienChic’s three collections, two of them – the Retro Collection and the Wedding Collection – offer pieces that are either limited-edition or one-of-a-kind, thanks to their inclusion of vintage elements. “I love the idea of using vintage for pets, especially the vintage moonglow. It’s got a great retro feel, and it’s a lightweight material, so even small-breed dogs with delicate necks can wear it comfortably.” And it unequivocally meets the pet owner’s desire for the unique.
But unique doesn’t have to mean vintage. The third collection is the aptly named Modern Collection, featuring designs made from strictly contemporary materials. Lawri created it especially for shop owners who like to order in quantity. “With these pieces, there’s not the concern with limited availability of components, so I can fill larger orders,” she explains. “But I still want these pieces to be different. So I focus on selecting materials that are noticeably absent from the marketplace, and on using them in unique configurations.”
As for the wedding line: “People who are very close to their pets will sometimes incorporate them into their wedding ceremonies,” explains Lawri. “the Wedding Collection is designed specifically for those owners. It gives them a really sweet, elegant way to dress up their pet for the occasion without being over the top, or costume-y. After the wedding, they’re left with a keepsake that the pet can continue to get wear out of.”
ChienChic is currently available exclusively at dog specialties in Dallas.
