All That Glitters is Sure to Charm: The Beauty Of Dog Collar Charms

These days dog collars serve several purposes. Sure, they’re an invaluable way to keep the leash attached and the id tags in place for your important four-footed friend. But more than that, they’re a fashion accessory.

Still, there’s something slightly incomplete about even the most fashionable small dog collar. Which is where collar charms come in!

Dog collar charms don’t have to be merely decorative — they can also be doggone useful. Engraved dog collar charms are as handy as they are beautiful, helping to identify your should his primary identity tag fall off. And secondly, they provide your dog with a pleasant keepsake that he can carry with him wherever he chooses to explore and roam.

Dog collars themselves are not merely an accessory, they’re indispensable – and sometimes part of a working dog’s attire. For example, country dogs that go hunting with their master will tend to wear bright orange or yellow colors so they’ll be protected by maximum visibility even in dense scrubland. In comparison, city dogs use reflective collars, often white, which are similar to the reflectors worn by cyclists so they can be seen by cars when they’re out and about in the evening.

But many dog owners choose their pet’s collar not just for practical purposes — to hold a license tag for instance — but rather as a decorative accessory to show off their dog’s unique personality. Designer dog collars and specially-chosen dog charms are the ideal way to do that. You can find any number of designer dog varieties. Try options like a matching rhinestone collar with a rhinestone bone-shaped charm, for example.

But don’t let your search for the perfect collar and dog charm stop at rhinestones. There are some absolutely gorgeous dog charms adorned with Swarovski crystals, pewter engraving and faux pearls. Some can be easily personalized with your pet’s own name.

Search hard enough and you’ll find charms for your dog’s collar in gold, silver, plastic, metal or even sculpted pieces of wood. You can even find designer dog collar charms inset with genuine diamonds and other gems. No matter what sort of dog or preference you have, the perfect collars and charms can be found to suit you and your small companion.
